RG-8X coax winder reel for field use - 8" diameter - up to 70 feet of coax

Keep your RG-8X straight and under control with this winder!  Easily wind and unwind exactly to the length you want, while still being able to connect to the antenna and radio.  Comfortably takes 60 feet of coax, though you can push it up to about 70 feet if you're careful about not letting it slide over the edge.  Once wound the coax winds and unwinds straight...no more coiled tangly messes in the field or in your bag!  Perfect for POTA, field day, or just making a few contacts in the back yard or park on a nice day.  Now available with optional clips to secure the handle on the reel when not in use!

Designed and made in-house right here in North Carolina, this winder features 2 coax clips on the top face meant to keep the radio end of the coax in place, while you unwind/operate/rewind with ease, so you can let out just as much as you need and connect to the radio without having to unspool it all.
Side coax clips on the edge secure the other end when it's wound up so it doesn't turn into a tangled mess in your bag.  Easy enough to unwind with just your finger as the axle, and the included handle simply slides in the center hole to make it easy to wind despite the weight of all that coax.  Great for winding other things too like LMR200 (or even long extension cords), though the clips are specifically sized for RG-8X coax.  (Side note: I've noticed some slight variability in the diameters of different batches of RG-8X,  even from DX Engineering batch to batch so the clips have been sized to the thickest coax I have from DX Engineering).
👉ABOUT THE OPTIONAL HANDLE CLIPS: We've had a couple folks reach out to see if we could come up with a way to secure the handle to the winder when not in use (like in a backpack), so we developed an optional set of clips that snap into the bottom side of the winder.  These are easy to install or remove, and can stay in place when winding or unwinding without getting in the way.
